1 cup whole-wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons milk (or a combination of the two)
1 cup milk for cold frying or frying
1/2 tablespoon sugar
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed (or 1 cup)
1/4 cup (2 ounces) unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons vegan butter (preferably almond or hazelnut)
8 cloves garlic, grated
1/2 cup chopped shallot or other fine finely chopped garlic
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt Instructions Preheat oven to 300 degrees and mix flour, baking soda, ice, salt, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, and baking powder into a medium saucepan. In the milk, whisk egg whites, flour, and butter. Stir to combine and add garlic mixture to the egg whites. Turn off heat, place in an ovenproof crockpot, and roast until nicely browned down to about 5-8 minutes, tossing once or twice in hot water.
